Year Round at the Public Market

JonJohn's Bakery and Specialty Foods, located in the Public Market in Rochester, New York, is a family owned specialty dessert bakery. This cottage industry was founded by partners Jonathan (a baker) and John (a teacher) in 1999, to create down home sweets “Just like Grandma’s” for all to taste and enjoy. Our award winning Beyond Chocolate Cake, Peanut Butter Balls, Sweet Potato Tarts, Ultimate Carrot Cake, Dream Pie, Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade and Sweet Tea are notorious specialties only found at JonJohn's Bakery and Specialty Foods. We would love to meet you and personally invite you to our little spot at the market to sample some of our delightful treats any Saturday of the year!

Our sweets are inspired by Jonathan’s maternal grandmother, Hazel. She was a strong woman of faith, courage, grace, compassion and stability who believed that no matter what happened in their lives, cooking would make things seem just a little better. This trait is carried on not only by our products, but also through the relationship we have with our customers. We hope each purchase can be an important event to our customers, whether they are buying cakes, cookies, cobblers, or our locally-famous peanut butter balls. Here at JonJohn's Bakery and Specialty Foods, we proudly use the freshest and finest ingredients in all of our desserts. Since founding the business, JonJohn's Bakery and Specialty Foods has been twice awarded the Rochester Epilepsy Foundation’s “People’s Choice” Award, and Foodlink Festival of Food “Best Taste” award for their products.
